The inexhaustible power of synthetic materials
Deceuninck, the largest recycler of rigid synthetic materials in the Benelux
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is well known for its performance. Our window finishing profiles stand out for their dimensional stability, durability and thermal insulation.
Thanks to our recycling capabilities, synthetic materials can also be considered a sustainable solution. Our recycling line can convert recycled material one‑to‑one without any loss of quality. More importantly, PVC can be recycled multiple times without losing its mechanical properties. This extends the lifespan of our building profiles without compromising on quality or performance.
The use of synthetic materials began to grow rapidly across most European countries in the 1980s. For installations around 40 years old, the amount of post‑consumer material is expected to rise significantly in the coming years. In addition, European energy‑efficiency rules for buildings (EED) are driving more renovation projects, meaning that increasing volumes of end‑of‑life building materials are becoming available.
To prevent these materials from ending up in landfill or being incinerated, Deceuninck has set up collection programmes across Europe. Through these programmes, we collect used PVC building materials, which are then recycled in our factories into new profiles. This is how Deceuninck has become the largest recycler of rigid synthetic materials in the Benelux.
