What are your responsibilities?

You will join our Group Legal and Compliance Team and will be based in our head office in Hooglede-Gits (Belgium). You are responsible for providing full legal support to the business on a broad range of legal matters for the territory of Europe:

You provide accurate, relevant and timely legal support and advice to the business and to management on a variety of legal topics that relate to the business, our people and our products;
You ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, taking into account and assessing possible risks, and you stay up-to-date with changes in legislation, particularly in relation to laws and regulations that directly affect the business or industry;
You draft, review and negotiate various types of agreements;
You assist the legal entities in Europe in legal disputes;
You manage external lawyers to obtain legal opinions or to handle claims and litigation;
You deal with warranty and IP infringement claims and execute procedures for protecting patents, trademarks, and industrial designs;
You develop and deliver legal training to the business;
You maintain the Enterprise Legal Management System;
You report to the General Counsel.

Who are we looking for?

You have a Master’s degree in Law, combined with 5-8 years of relevant experience, preferably as a lawyer and an in-house legal counsel in an industrial sector;
You have a strong business sense, with a passion for compliance and risk management;
You have a solution-oriented approach, aiming for results while staying customer-focused;
You like working on (strategic) legal projects together with the Group Legal and Compliance Team and other stakeholders;
You are well-organized, able to set priorities, work autonomously and take responsibility;
You speak Dutch fluently and have a good knowledge of English and French. Other languages are considered a plus;
You are willing to travel.
